  • Providing group opportunities via virtual platforms for fun 90-minute sessions tailored to your needs. This is an excellent way to maximize savings per person. Group tutoring is capped at 5 students per session unless otherwise agreed.

    Micro School Special Classes offer more space for learners but less time with individual needs. Class cap is dependent upon the topic and nature of the lesson.

    Stream Ecology: This is a 1 to 2 week unit of study with lessons provided and tutorial services either embedded or a la carte’. The materials are aimed at middle school science students in order to meet Arizona State Standards related to the human interaction with the biosphere and dipping into concepts in evolutionary theory. It culminates in an instructor led meeting at a local creek or river where parents/teachers/students can meet and learn to sample streams for different life forms that help scientists to evaluate the health of the water and the river ecosystem. Group cap is generally 10 students and a waiver of liability must be signed by all participants. In the future there will be an option to rent a kit for a day and take your student(s) out for a DIY river exploration adventure that also provides the hands on experience so many of our students thrive on.

    Other classes coming soon: Learning plant science and nutritional evaluation with microgreens.

    This will be an at home course where a kit is either suggested and materials listed to buy from vendors, or I am creating rental kits with mini greenhouses/lights, soil, trays and seeds for learners to explore plant growth, nutritional concepts related to plants and how human consumption of them at various stages changes nutrition options. in addition general plant anatomy and functions are discussed in ways that meet Arizona educational standards for a variety of grades.

    In every class I have taught in person since 2018, I have grown microgreens in my classroom. My students LOVE them, which quite surprised and then delighted me! This option offers a rental kit for a small, in home greenhouse kit to grow microgreens (and then enjoy eating them!) while lessons offer the appropriate materials to satisfy grade level standards at a variety of levels. It’s a lot of fun, very simple, and gives the hands on experience to create confidence in learners new to growing food crops. The bonus comes with the direct nutrition supplied by microgreens that is not found anywhere else.

    Evaluating Water Quality by understanding human use and impacts of runoff.

    Small Mammal and Reptile ecology and trapping techniques used by field biologists. This can be done in your back yard if you desire.

    Feel Free to suggest an area of interest (science) and I can provide options. Things like epigenetics, environmental history and how that shapes our current world, etc. There’s always more to learn!!!
